Bimanual Assembly in a Shared Workspace

Manipulation in shared workspaces requires the robot to accommodate nearby human motion while maintaining the contacts needed to complete its task. We study bimanual assembly with the A7-L6 bimanual robot manipulator, including part transport, alignment, insertion, and withdrawal after release.

The robot completes assembly while a person reaches into the shared workspace, maintaining housing support and part–housing alignment through insertion. Simulation playback is at the original execution speed.
