Languages
I picked up Japanese in preparation for my trip to Kyoto as a 2022 ROSCon Diversity Scholar and learned that I had a knack for languages. I've continued to study the language and also picked up Swedish along the way. If you speak fluent Japanese and are reading this, Konnichiwa!
Music
Music was a significant part of my extracurricular life as an undergraduate engineering student: I sang tenor/alto in a choral group, played the piano, and took a few guitar lessons. I try to keep those skills from getting too rusty through occasional EDM production and recreational a cappella.
Reading
I have a fondness for deftly-crafted prose and often engage in recreational reading. My favorite titles span fiction, nonfiction, novella, and memoir genres from Stephen King, Paul J. Silvia, Ph.D., Sheridan Baker, William Zinsser, Phil Knight, J.K. Rowling, Hillary Rettig, and E.B. White.
